In this video, we travel from Roses near Girona in Spain crossing France’s southern border and travel north to the aire at Calais. We have four overnight park ups at Roche De Glune, Lamarche Sur Saone, Saint Imoges and Calais. The island at Roche De Glune is interesting and we return to Lamarche Sur Saone after 12 years so it’ll be interesting to see if it’s changed. We often try to stop at Epernay to allow Wendy to stock up on Mercier’s rose champagne and we hope to stay at the Epernay aire if there is space. Whilst we are parked up at the Calais aire we meet Rose and Paul, a lovely couple who are parked up in the same aire and are also travelling to Vanlovefest in York in the UK. The power of social media connected us!

Heading south parking up at French aires, enroute to Lloret De Mar, Spain.
As we continue to drive south towards Lloret de Mar in Spain we have two overnight stops at aires in France. Both were really nice, and quite different. We plan our schedule to arrive around mid-afternoon to give us time to explore the local area.
Europe 2025 Tour. Glasgow, Scotland to Lloret de Mar, Spain.
Well, it’s been a while since we posted touring videos as we have been focusing on converting campervans and haven’t toured much in 2025. We are now starting our summer European tour driving from the Glasgow area in Scotland to Lloret de Mar in Spain. This video captures our travels to the tunnel in Folkestone and into France, parking up at the Merlimont plage aire. Wendy has used TravelBoast to illustrate our whole route south, through France and into Spain.
Europe 2024 La Rochelle, Mont Saint Michel, Le Crotoy and Calais
In this video we leave Ile De Re heading North with four more park ups along the way. We have an overnight park up in the aire at La Rochelle and a wee tour of La Rochelle itself – what a beautiful place. We then spend a couple of days at the stunning Mont Saint Michel campsite and then stay over at an aire in Le Crotoy. We are staying at the second aire next to the harbour that we haven’t been to before. Our final park up in France is the aire at Calais. Whilst we are parked up we have several e-bike tours along the way too.
Europe 2024: Travelling to Ile De Re, France with stop overs at Bolougne Sur Mer, Honfleur and Nozay
Episode 1 of our summer European tour travels from the Glasgow area in Scotland to Loix in Ile De Re, France. We have park ups in Rugby, England by the canal and aires at both Honfleur and Nozay in France before travelling over the bridge onto the island of Ile De Re. This is the first big trip for our new pup, Lola the Miniature Pinscher, and it’s also the first big trip with our MiRider e-bikes. We intend to tour many of our stops via the cycle routes, so we’ll be capturing footage from the e-bikes as well as our campervan. Lola also has a place on Wendy’s MiRider. Our first impressions of Ile De Re are very good.
Tour: Europe 2023 Episode 5 Chamonix, Bonneville, Epernay and Calais
Sadly we start to head north in this episode as we start the return trip home.
We stop off at Chamonix where we experience some parking problems, then head North to the lovely aire at Bonneville. We were surprised to see journalist for the Tour de France parking up here.
Then we are off to Epernay for Wendy to buy some Mercier champagne and we park up overnight at an excellent aire. One of the best I’ve stayed at so far.
We then head further north to the aire at Calais and have a nice trip to the beach, and finally we travel on the Eurotunnel, park up overnight at Carlisle and then head to Glasgow. As we cross the Scottish border our normal weather returns!
Europe Tour 2023 Episode 2
This episode starts in the magnificent Wurzburg on the river Main and we head south along the Romantic Road stopping at Landsbderg am Lech.
This is a beautiful part of Germany with lots of places to see. We stop over at many places for a look around along the way capturing medieval walled cities and lovely traditional towns.
The Romantic Road is a must do if you like touring.
Europe Tour 2023 Episode 1
We’ve embarked upon our European Tour starting from Glasgow, Scotland and heading to Lake Garda in Italy. We plan to drive through France, Belgium, Germany and Italy.
We plan to drive south through Germany along the Romantic Road (Romantische Strasse) before finally heading for Lake Garda in Italy.
In this episode 1 we travel from Folkestone on the Eurotunnel, then drive through France and Belgium arriving in Cologne, Germany.
We’d love to know what you think so feel free to comment.
Fabulous Findhorn on the Moray Coast
We returned to Findhorn with two campervans parking up at the aire. This is a beautiful location a couple of minutes walk from the beach, and five minutes walk to the restaurant. We were lucky to see seals in the River Findhorn and dolphins in the Moray Firth – although didn’t capture the dolphins in the video.
Fabulous Findhorn aire in Moray, Scotland
We were attending a family wedding so we decided to take our campervan and stay at the Findhorn aire. We were also joined by our son and daughter in our son’s recently converted Caddy Maxi. You’ll have ready previous posts about the conversion if you’ve been following our journey.
The aire at Findhorn is brilliant. It’s clean and modern, with an electronic booking and access system. Everything worked perfectly from arrival to departure.

We arrived late the previous evening and loved the lack of light pollution. This is the view from our van at 10:30 pm. With the correct conditions you can see the Northern Lights. Unfortunately we did not on this occasion.

It’s a few minutes walk from the aire to the beach.

There is a maximum two day stay so the aire was emptying the day we left and provided a good opportunity to capture the Caddy Maxi in the foreground and our Ducato in the background.
